WORD FOR THE DAY - DISENGENUOUS

Good morning readers, hope you all had a blessed Sunday and will have one today, too.

I went to town yesterday and bought material to make my great-granddaughter a Christmas dress.   I haven't undertaken anything of this magnitude in a while, but am looking forward to being creative with my sewing machine once again.    I put sewing off, but once I sit down at the machine, I really enjoy it.  It's very rewarding to take a piece of cloth and make a beautiful garment for a loved one, or anyone.  I used to make all of my children's clothing when they were small.  My daughter and son were the best dressed kids in town.

I once made my daughter a red gingham Christmas dress with a white pique pinafore, long with long sleeves.  When an acquaintance of mine saw it, she had three of the same pattern made for her three daughters, all different ages, out of the same fabric.   In retrospect, I should have gotten mad that she copied me, but I was to young to really be that concerned about it;  now, it makes me mad.

I still haven't gotten groceries.  That's really what I went to town for, but got sidetracked at the fabric store, the department store,  Pier 1 and Sonic.  Don't you just love Pier 1?  It's one of my favorite stores.  I wanted to go to Michael's but it was just too crowded.  I really don't need anything at this store anyway.  When I go there, I always buy things I don't need, but think I do.

I'll get groceries today, wash the Dupioni silk (yes, it can be washed) and the other fabrics I'll be using, so I can cut them out once I measure my great-granddaughter, who is extremely beautiful.  My great-grandson is also beautiful.  Aren't all grandchildren beautiful?  They are the  joy of my life.  I thank my granddaughter a lot for giving me two such beautiful great-grandchildren.  Of course, my daughter, son, granddaughter and grandson are also beautiful.    (I  think I need to give that word a break.)

My life is so busy.  On Tuesday and Thursday of each week,  my daughter and I babysit the great-grands.  It can be tiring at times, but well worth it.  This way I'll be able to spend some quality time with them.  They grow up so fast.  I can remember holding my daughter, rocking her and thinking...'I really need to enjoy every minute with her because, when I turn around, she'll be grown.'  Now, she is grown, has children of her own and grandchildren, too.  Where does the time go?

Time to watch the news and see what's happening in the world.  Please pray for America; we're very close to becoming a socialist country.

Have a wonderful day.  Pat
